DR. MANDAR DATAR

ADVISOR

Dr. Mandar Datar possesses an expertise in Plant Taxonomy and Angiosperms. He works in the Biodiversity and Paleobiology group at Agharkar Research Institute and studies diversity, distribution and endemism of flowering plants of India with a focus on northwestern ghats. He likes spending time in his lab, engaged in multiplying rare and endemic orchid species using tissue culture and reintroducing them in the wild. Apart from regularly contributing articles in Marathi media for civil society, Mandar has authored several books and papers in international journals.

He was given the Junior Research Fellowship for his outstanding achievements.
