Rajendra retired as Managing Director and CEO of Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Pune. He worked in Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Pune for 43 years. He started his career as a Management Trainee in the Production Department and worked in different departments like Projects, Ancillary Development and Materials. During the period of Head of Medium Engine Business Unit, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. became a flagship company amongst the Kirloskar group. He worked as a mentor for 5 years for Kirloskar group Energy Conservation Committee. He received “National Industrial Excellence" Award by National Education & Human Resource Organization in 2012-13. He also worked as a Governing council member on Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for 8 years and worked as a Governing Council Member of Kolhapur Institute of Technologies, College of Engineering Kolhapur and other 4 colleges.
