SHIVASHANKAR BANAGAR

Mr. Shivashankar Banagartravelled to all the corners of Hampi and captured the ruins in all the lighting conditions. His extensive work is un-imaginable. His early mornings and evenings are spent in and around the ruins of the Hampi.

Mr. Banagar is inspired and guided by naturalist and photographer Mr.Pampyya Swamy in Hospet and crafted his own path. Now he is regarded as one of the most important landscape photographers in Karnataka and in India. Mr. Shivashankar Banagar took birth in a village called Mariyammanahalli near Hospet. His father migrated from Nanikere which was submerged due to the construction of the Tungabhadra dam. His only skill was stitching. He was making his life with that.

Mr. Shivashankar Banagar received his primary education in Mariyammanahalli and in Siddaganga Mutt, Tumakuru. He completed his degree education in Hagaribommanahalli. He completed his Diploma in Journalism from University of Mysore and joined as a reporter in the Hospet Times. Later he worked in Vijaya Karnataka in the circulation section. He was then promoted to the role of a reporter in Vijaya Karnataka. He also served in the advertising section of Vijaya Karnataka. He managed many unique advertising campaigns in Hospet and Ballari. He then started his own advertising agency- Banagar Media Solutions, which is helping businesses and others with unique ad campaigns.

Awards and Recognitions:
1. He was awarded with the DJMPC award for best landscape photograph.
2. He was awarded with the Central Tourism Ministry photo contest.
3. He was awarded the Hampi Utsav award for his photographs.
4. His photographs were featured in a coffee table book in the AKKA sammelan.
