While many people run away from snakes, Shri Venugopal Naidu runs towards them! For the last 34 years, Mr. Naidu, an agriculturist and passionate environmentalist, has been at the forefront of rescuing snakes. In addition to running the “Animal Protection” program on his own initiative, he has conducted many programmes in collaboration with private organisations and various departments, including the Forest Department. He assists veterinarians in treating severely injured animals. Mr. Naidu has been involved in tireless efforts to raise awareness about snakes. He visits schools and colleges to talk about the misunderstood reptile’s importance in the ecosystem. His love for animals extends to stray dogs, going out of his way to treat injuries at his own expense. Shri Venugopal Naidu’s compassion for all animals is commendable, and an inspiration for us all.
