Umapathi Gajanan Bhat

Shri Umapathi Gajanan Bhat is a dedicated environmental activist and educator. Over the past 25 years, he has worked tirelessly in service of the environment. Mr. Bhat has planted over 8,000 saplings and established 140 “Navagraha Vanas” and several specialised Vanas across Karnataka. He has prepared the next generation to become environmental stewards through workshops and lectures. Mr. Bhat has authored 10 ecological books including “Kevala Jnana Vrukshagalu” and “Nisarga Yaana”’, and widely documented biodiversity. His work has been recognised by the state level award “Salu Marada Thimmakka” Hasiru Puraskara in 2015.
