Born in 1933, Mr. Dixit has served in the Forest Dept. of Govt. of Maharashtra (starting as a RFO) since 1958. His biggest career achievement is Dnyaneshwar Garden, which contains all the plants mentioned in various ancient religious books. Through his efforts, a flower-clock could be created in Pal district. The flowers making up the clock bloom at different times of the day. He founded ‘Friends of Trees’ in Nashik and has been arranging tree-plantation drives for the last 20 years. This institute has distributed thousands of saplings to the residents of Nashik, educating them about the care and cultivation of plants.
