Shri Shivaji Sadashiv More is the tenth-generation descendants of the Saint Jagadguru Shri Tukaram Maharaj. He has held prominent positions in various governmental and non-governmental organisations. As the main organiser of the Nirmal Waari campaign, he has worked tirelessly to sensitise the general public about the importance of cleanliness during the annual pilgrimage. The ‘Harit Waari Abhiyan’ lead by Shri Shivaji More is a tree plantation initiative under which indigenous trees are planted on both sides of the highways leading to Pandharpur from Alandi and Dehu. Shri More is the chairman of the Vrikshadai Pratishthan, an organisation that increases green cover on hills. Shri Shivaji More has been honoured with the ‘Environmental Gaurav Award 2018’, instituted jointly by the Environmental Club of India and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and the National Greenery Award in 2018 and 2019 by the Salumarda Thimmaka International Foundation, Karnataka.
