Rameshwar Phugare from Mangalwedha is a first class science graduate in Botany. His lives by his motto of working for the conservation of nature with the help of the local community. He has been involved in important projects like the promotion of Urban Herbal Home Garden and Popularisation of Indigenous System of Healthcare in Pune. He has partaken in the Marine Turtle Conservation and created awareness through community participation in Maharashtra. He has also been involved in the quantitative assessment of the geographical distribution and population status of the plant resources of the Western Ghats. Rameshwar Phugare has attended the International Conference on Taxonomy at Pune and the World’s Second Ayurveda Congress at the University of Pune.
