Jayant Atre is a Member of the District committee for the conservation of Bio-Diversity. Working for the documentation of wildlife in the Yavatmal district, he is active in conserving nature and cleaning the environment. He conducts nature awareness lectures in schools and colleges. Jayant Atre has photographed and documented more than 250 birds, 27 types of snakes, 48 butterflies, 12 wild animals and more than 400 insects. An award winning wildlife photographer, his images of birds are displayed at the Singapore National Zoo. He has even been participating in the Machan census for the last 10 years, arranged by the forest department.
