While farming, G. Vishwamurthy learnt about the medicinal values of herbs and plants. He learnt home remedies for various ailments from his grandmother. He incidentally attended a training camp, and in this camp, he developed more interest on scientific aspects of medicinal plants, their identification, classification, usage, medicinal values. Later on he conducted hundreds of training camps and documented the traditional medicinal practices.
