Rajendra Shende is a Technology and Policy Advisor on ‘Ozone Layer Protection and its Benefits to Reduce Climate Change’. He is heading the OzonAction Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP DTIE). He closely works with governments and industries to provide strategic guidance on policies and technology related to global environmental issues. Before joining UNEP, Mr. Shende has gained an experience of nearly 20 years in some of the best-managed corporate sector companies including Tata Group in India. He studied Chemical Engineering at IIT, Mumbai. In 1988, he was nominated by the Govt. of India in the National Task Force to carve out India’s strategy leading towards its ratification of the Montreal Protocol.
