Through the medium of Nature Conservation Society, Mr. Biswaroop Raha is busy with conservation work in 72 villages around Nashik. He takes a keen interest in educating rural masses about conservation. With the help of Mahindra and Mahindra, he has transformed Borgad and Tungal Dare by planting 40,000 indigenous species of trees. He is a Master Photographer. He has been honoured with 1st Prize in the Salim Ali Centenary Photography Competition. He has trekked the Himalayas 9 times to study and film rare species. He found the Great Indian Bustard after a long time around Nashik. He also traced Ortolan Bunting, a migratory species after 18 years around Gangapur. He is the Honorary Wildlife Warden for Nashik district. He is also a life member of BNHS, Nilgiri Wildlife Association, Nature Environment and Wildlife Society – Calcutta, and Andhra Pradesh Bird Watching Society.
