ASTITVA is an NGO working in the drought-prone areas of Solapur and Sangli districts for the past 25 years. It has brought about a profound transformation in the lives of rural populations through its multipronged approach to solving their problems. Digital Financial Literacy, bicycle banks, goat banks, backyard farming, dairy farming, millet processing units are some of the initiatives aimed at making rural women financially independent. The NGO regularly carries out desilting of check dams and wells to improve their water storage capacity. The organisation distributed safety kits, ration kits, oxygen tanks and concentrators to hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also trains school children and teachers in waste management and in various environment conservation strategies.
