Ajit Patil is a farmer from Sangli. A Commerce graduate, Ajit is an ardent Chipko (hug the trees) movement activist working with Chandi Prasad Bhatt and Sunder Lal Bahuguna himself. From his school days, Ajit likes studying nature, traveling, nature photography etc. He has done still and video-shooting in many rivers (Krishna, Bhogawati, Indrawati, Warna etc.) right from where they originated till their meeting with the seas, and has covered many topics related to rivers including Plant & Animal life, History, Geography, Social and Economic Diversities etc. The River Valley Research Society engaged him to study and photograph the effects of the total solar eclipse on plants and animals in Yallapur (Karnataka).
