Mr. Sharad Apte has continued to take the Nature Conservation Movement forward at a personal level. He keeps himself away from any publicity. Mr. Apte has inherited a liking for social work from his father late Mr. Dattopant Apte. In the last 20 years, he has earned fame in the field of Photography and Bird Watching. He has recorded original sounds of animals, birds and insects. This collection of 316 types of bird sounds is made available for nature lovers and bird researchers on the website www.birdcall.info . He has also collected and published an audio-visual film on birds found in the Western Ghats (a long mountain range situated parallel to the western seashore of India, which is about 1600 kms long).
