With a passion for wildlife, nature and people, Sanjay Karkare has been the spearhead of the Satpuda Landscape Tiger Programme (SLTP) mobile education and community sustainability unit of BNHS. SLTP addresses tiger conservation issues in Satpuda Landscape. Through SLTP, he has created environmental awareness amongst more than 50,000 students, local communities and governmental agencies. To reduce human-wildlife conflict, various initiatives were enabled by him like repairing biogas plants around tiger reserves and reducing dependence on firewood collection; publishing various news articles about SLTP in local and national media.
