Dr. Bhalchandra Sathye is the founder secretary of Rugna Seva Prakalp (RSP) Miraj. RSP is a voluntary organisation with a number of organisations working together in the field of Health, Environment Protection and Rural Development for 23 years. The activities organised by RSP in the field of environment are Kisan Nursery Project, preparation of samplings for the Social Forest Department and social organisations. They adopt National Environmental Awareness Campaign (programme of Ministry of E and F) to spread awareness. Herbal nursery and cultivation of herbal medicinal plants in 20 villages from Miraj Taluka, programmes for women cultivation, and training of preparation of home medicines by using herbs are some of the activities organised by RSP.
