Dr. Satish Pande is a doctor, bird lover and teacher from Pune. He has also conducted many studies on birds that have been published in reputed journals in the field of Ornithology. Dr. Satish Pande is the founding President of the ELA Foundation, an NGO devoted to nature conservation and education. He has also authored numerous books on birds such as ‘Birds of Western Ghats’, ‘Konkan and Malabar’ and the latest being ‘Birds of Lonavla – Khandala’. Under the banner of ELA Foundation, he conducts the unique Certificate Course in Basic Ornithology. The course is running since 2003 with more than 600 participants successfully completing the course successfully.
