Atul Dhamankar was born and brought up in Chandrapur. As an ardent nature lover and wildlife enthusiast, he has spent over 20 years in the Indian forests studying tigers and other wildlife. Atul mainly studied tigers in Tadoba, Andhari Tiger Reserve and Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra with many National and International organisations. His tiger study has been pioneering and inspiring for many youth who want to make their careers in this field. He has also studied Sarus Crane, the largest flying bird of India. Atul is an award winning wildlife photographer. He has conducted over 5,000 presentations and lectures across India to create awareness about wildlife. He has written 8 books on wildlife, many of which have received prestigious awards.
